The Importance of

Creativity

Creativity is the ability to both imagine new ideas and bring them to life. Kids will use creative mindsets and strategies throughout their lives to invent new things, solve problems, express their ideas and feelings, collaborate well with others and to nurture relationships.

Our ten Creativity series lessons follow a steady progression and are organized into three units:

  • In our Building Blocks unit, we focus on the "Three B's:" breaking, bending and blending. These are the three core thinking processes when we are creative.
  • In our Creative Thinking unit, we use pretending to explore divergent thinking and discover many possible solutions to various situations.
  • In our final Creative Expression unit, we explore how we can express ideas and feelings through art, music, and movement.

At Tinkergarten we help your child develop a foundation of vital life skills. When kids complete a class they earn a one-of-a-kind, iron-on skill badge.

Celebrate with Nature

We introduce five ways to connect to nature and boost joy:

Persistence

Persistence is the ability to stick with something, pushing through challenges and adapting to reach our goals, learn and grow.

Communication

Our fun Camp Tinkergarten theme is anchored by sweet rituals and weekly lessons designed to use purposeful, outdoor play to bolster kids' communication—that symphony of skills we use to take in, make sense of and express ideas.

Empathy

We'll help kids build strong roots in empathy, our human superpower. Kids learn to recognize emotions in themselves and others, explore taking another's perspective and discover fun, new ways to care for each other and the planet.

Wellness

This Fall, we focus on Wellness—that combination of physical, mental and emotional health kids need to thrive. Our curriculum will provide kids with irresistible invitations to play that help kids develop language, strategies and habits that they can continue to use to build strong bodies, minds and hearts—all tools kids can use to be and stay well.

Sensory

Everything our kids learn is filtered through their senses, and each child has a unique sensory system. Our curriculum is designed to help each child strengthen and balance their senses in the great outdoors.

Problem Solving

Playful problem solving now can help kids adjust to a changing environment, navigate key relationships, and contribute to their family, local and broader communities.
